WHAT IS OUR THINKING AND FEELING ABOUT THE FIFA WORLD CUP 2014?
BRAZIL is the 7th world economy, and, in that perspective, is a rich country. But at the same time it has the lowers levels of education (specially in elementary and high school) and there is very little investiments in public heald programs. Even de local population has problems in due of the bad roads, and outhers forms of transportantion.
THE WORLD CUP spend a lot of resources for construction of new “arenas”, much more than the original budgets. The works for the “cup” wasen’t concluded at time and, in many cases, is no clear what will be really the benefit to the quality of life in general terms. Those reasons are the motivations to many popular mobilizations against this event, and against the responsables for all the problem.

¿QUE PENSAMOS E SENTIMOS SOBRE LA COPA DEL MUNDO FIFA 2014?
BRASIL es la 7ª economia del mundo y, en esta perspectiva, es um país rico. Pero, al mismo tiempo, tiene los más bajos niveles de educación (especialmente em primaria y secundaria) y las escasas inversiones en programas de salud pública. De la misma forma, la población local tiene problemas en función de malas carreteras y otras formas de transporte.
LA COPA DEL MUNDO hizo gastar muchos recursos para la construcción de las nuevas “arenas”, mucho más de ló que se anunciaba en los presupuestos originales. Las obras para la “copa” no fueron terminadas a tiempo y, en muchos casos, no quedó claro cual es el real benefício para la calidad de vida em términos generales. Estas razones son la real motivación de mobilizaciones populares contra este evento y contra lós responsables por todo el problema.

Make your ways known upon earth, Lord God, your saving power among all peoples. Especialy, we pray, for those who are representing in the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Renew the Christian Church in holiness and harmony to all religions in the World, and help us to serve you with joy. Guide the leaders of all nations, that justice may prevail throughout the world. Let not the needy be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor be taken away. Make us instruments of your peace and let your glory be over all the earth. Amen

Haz que tus caminos sean conocidos sobre la tierra, Señor Dios, y tu poder salvador entre los pueblos. Especialmente, nosotros oramos, por aquellos que están representados en la Copa del Mundo FIFA en Brasil. Renueva la Iglesia Cristiana en santidad y harmonía con todas las religiones del mundo, y ayuda a los líderes de todas las naciones para que prevalesca la justicia en todo el mundo. No permitas que las personas necesitadas sean olvidadas, ni que retiren la esperança de las pobres. Que seamos instrumentos de tu Paz e permite que Tu Glória se extienda sobre toda la tierra. Amén.
